The channel and Salman’s fans, both are waiting for the third season of ‘Dus Ka Dum’, the game show on Sony TV. Rumors where out regarding the launch of the show in the July but Salman himself cleared the air with his one tweets which says “Dus Ka Dum season 3 starts from 4th September.”

A source informs, “Dus Ka Dum will start after the finale of Indian Idol which is going to start from 26thApril that will take almost 3 months to wind up.

As the channel don’t want to run two reality shows at the same time there will be a gap between the end of Indian Idol and start of ‘Dus Ka Dum’. Even though the talks about the format are going on, the basic of the show will be the same.”

“The celebrity guests and Bollywood biggies will be the zest of the show once again like the season 1 and season 2, ” adds source.

So get ready for ‘Dus Ka Dum’ season 3 which starts from 4th September 2010.

Since a hoard of Bollywood bigwigs are hopping on to the small screen these days, guess they could get some motivation from Salman Khan as he’s already a rage on TV. Well, according to the most recent buzz, Salman Khan has been roped in by a TV channel for the third time for hosting the upcoming season of hit show ‘Dus Ka Dum’. And that’s not all, for ‘DKD Season 3’, Sallu has been signed on for twice the fee that he was paid for the last season of the show.

Sources reveal that Salman, who got about Rs 80 lakh per episode, for 25 episodes of the show last year, has apparently been signed on for an amount between Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 1.5 crore.

Confirming the news, sources from the channel told a news daily, “Salman will absolutely get more this year and he deserves it too. The channel at this moment, needs his support. His show has brought the channel decent TRPs and viable star value.

The ratings of most of their other shows are only just impressive. So, getting him back is the need of the hour.” The show is probable to go on air between July and August.

While it’s no surprise that many Bollywood stars have refused offers from television channels in the past, it’s usually because the star doesn’t want to be part of it. Salman Khan must have never imagined that he would have to opt out of a show on one channel because a competing channel didn’t like the idea.

It transpired that Salman was approached by a particular channel to judge a dance reality show, Zara Nachke Dikha, but another channel, which airs his game show Dus Ka Dum, had strong reservations about the move.

A source said, “Salman spoke to the channel that airs Dus Ka Dum but they were unwilling to let Salman be seen on a competing channel. So they politely but firmly told Salman to forget about judging Zara Nachke Dikha. The actor had no choice but to comply.”

Vasudha Jha, a senior official of the channel that will air Zara Nachke Dikha, said, “Yes, we couldn’t get Salman. Though he was pretty excited about the offer, he had to check with the channel that airs Dus Ka Dum. They said they could only allow it if Zara Nachke Dikha goes on air after the next season of Dus Ka Dum winds up. Waiting that long was not possible. Right now, we are in talks with Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan.”

However, Ajit Thakur, an official of the channel that airs Dus Ka Dum, denied that Salman had spoken to them about Zara Nachke Dikha. “But yes, we do have a certain amount of exclusivity on Dus Ka Dum, since it is a very big show,” he said.

Salman Khan has got a huge price of reportedly around 1.25 crore per episode for the third season of Dus Ka Dum which is expected to to be aired from August onwards.

The popularity of the show has meant that Salman Khan's price has been going up with each season. The first season he was reportedly paid around 75 lakhs per episode while season two was 1 crore per episode.

The pay packet is one of the biggest ever for television.

News from Sony Entertainment Television is that Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan has been signed for another season. But it is not for the very successful show, Dus Ka Dum. The actor will be doing another show for the channel for which details are still being fine tuned.

Sources from the channel, who do not wish to be named as the show is not confirmed, told Businessofcinema.com, "Salman Khan is the most successful Bollywood actor on the small screen. His contract for last year had to be extended by another 13 episodes as the audiences kept badgering us to continue with the show. But this time when we wanted to renew the deal, Salman came up with the idea to do something fresh. So although he has signed up with us, what the show is going to be, is still being decided."

Sony is currently gearing up for another season of Indian Idol. Only post that will the creative team come up with ideas for Salman's show. And as for Salman, who always begs to differ from the ordinary, has to do something quite contrary by moving away from a successful mantra.

A friend of the actor says, "Salman has to do it his way. He likes taking risks instead of walking the same rosy path. His fans have always stood by him. Whatever TV show he has come as a guest, be it Farah Khan's Tere Mere Beach Mein on Star Plus or Karan Johar's Lift Kara De on Sony, has been a huge success. We are sure, this time round, he will yet again come a winner."

Nursing a back-ache, Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan wearily finds comfort in nicotine as he sequentially deals with fans, journalists and a friend who wants him to promote an event. In an oddly reassuring fashion, though, we get to see the trademark removal of his T-shirt as his manager makes him try on a merchandise vest. Despite the 70-plus films in a career that has spanned over 20 years, Khan, in our first meeting, comes across as astutely calculated and slightly haughty, with only hints of being jaded.

Asked how much he contributed to the script of Veer which he has co-written, Khan proudly states: "I've written the film. I really felt at home while writing; it was spoken straight from the heart-the way I feel about men, romance." We didn't question the fact that it is a period film, but he continues: "I wanted to do a film on men, father-son relationships and romance, which is why it had to be a period film. There's no romance now, we don't have the relationships people had back then; I took it back to the 1800s as it was a time when men were men, they would die for their word."

Khan states that despite featuring a revolution, romance is a huge part of the story as it ignites the battle. "The film is based in a remote village and is about the Pindari tribe-the British said they were barbaric thugs. They were actually farmers that turned into guerrilla fighters; the revolution basically started from Pindaris," he says, offering a piece of India's history. The plot does take us back to Mel Gibson's Braveheart.

Khan originally wanted to cast Sanjay Dutt in the film which he wrote before he became an actor. "At the time, everything was booming so we couldn't have covered the cost; the recession made it possible now." Asked about whether it was a risk casting Zarine Khan, the debutant from the UK, Khan says: "She's a Pathan girl who speaks Hindi and Urdu well and was spectacular in the screen test. It was pure luck." Despite Zarine being half his age and reminiscent of Katrina Kaif, Khan managed to bond well with Zarine; "Chemistry is really important, as long as you don't take the chemistry home."

Veer, says Khan, also has a social message behind it. "The basic thought was that when everybody starts saying 'this is my country' that you can actually take this country forward. Fighting corruption, fighting ignorance, in all these things you have to take the lead." When asked if he could see himself going beyond the message of the film in fighting corruption or ignorance, Khan dismissed the idea, saying "No, not really."

Khan does have philanthropic interests though, however cursory they may seem. When asked what causes he is interested in helping, Khan simply says "Children." This year should see the full-fledged establishment of his charity, Being Human, for which he has already garnered enough publicity primarily through the sale of paintings he created. "We expect to establish Being Human early this year. The merchandising is going to take time because people started making fake T-shirts."

Post-Veer, Khan will shoot for the third season of his popular television show , Dus Ka Dum. Any more scripts up his sleeve? He says: "There are enough script writers around.

Sara Khan the young bahu of television is now all set to meet Salman Khan on the sets of 10 Ka Dum. The actress today is going for the shoot of the same and is very excited. A person close to Sara revealed, “Sara was very excited to meet Salman Khan and she has managed to get some time off from her shoot of the show Bidaai and will be heading towards RK Studio for the shoot with Mr. Khan.”

The actress has appeared on a reality show with Shahrukh Khan before. “She and Parul did appear with SRK on the show Paanchvi Paas and had a gala time. This time Sara is going alone without Parul, and she doesn’t even have the company of her boyfriend Ali Merchant,” chirps the source.

“Ali is too busy shooting and rehearsing for his dance with Karishma Tanna on Colors for the Ganesha Utsav Special. It’s a known fact that Ali is a big fan of Salman and Wanted to attend the shoot, but due to his prior commitments he could not do the same,” adds the source. We tried contacting Sara and Ali, but the duo was not available for comments. It is sure going to be a dhamaka when the two khans meet!

A source reveals, "It was Salman's idea. He wanted a longer season. Also, he doesn't feel he needs to rely on the star power of the contestants. The guests on the new episodes won't be celebrities."

Danish Khan, VP marketing Sony confirms, "Yes we are adding eight more episodes to the season. Now we will go on till 24 episodes."

When asked if there would be more non-celeb guests this season he adds, "We have had an episode with two common men who got us great ratings. So there's no such set format."

There are plans to end the season with a bang. "We want to do something spectacular. But that will be decided later."

Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan says that Bollywood star Salman Khan had left her red-faced when he took her along for the auditions of his super hit 1989 film 'Maine Pyar Kiya'. View Gallery.......

Farah recalled the incident when she came on the reality show 'Dus Ka Dum 2', which is being hosted by Salman.

'He (Salman) took me along so that I could show him a few steps to do before director Sooraj Barjatya. But when Salman did the steps, it was so appalling that I simply picked up by footwear, hailed a cab and took off home,' said Farah on the show.

Salman, who started blushing after his secret was revealed, agreed that he did have two left feet then and later even demonstrated the step he was required to perform at the auditions, said a source from the sets of the show.

It happened on the sets of 10 Ka Dum - 2. But it looked like a scene straight out of a Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi– remember the song Paanch rupaiyya baaraah anna? A contestant on the show Sunil Mishra, a milkman by profession walked up to Salman Khan, gifted him 2 litres of fresh milk and demanded money for 5 litres of milk that he had delivered to his unit at Film city five years ago, for the film 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya', which his production had yet to pay for!

Taken aback by the towering man before him Salman promised to pay him back with interest for all the years gone by. “I have seen you cycling by my tabela on the way to Film City many times,” he said. “Then why did you not stop me and take your money then?” asked Salman Khan.

It’s raining celebs on Sony’s Dus Ka Dum. Next to join the bandwagon is the stunning actress Kangana Ranaut who wooed the audience with her outstanding performance in the film ‘Fashion’.

As per the sources from the sets, “She had a grand entry with the other ramp models on the stage. Her catwalk was oozing confidence. The film ‘Fashion’ has really given huge make over to this beauty.”

Talking about her act our khabroo states, “She enjoyed the episode with Sallu’s company. They both shared a hearty laugh and danced on Salman’s song, Tenu leke main jawanga… from Salam-e-Ishq.”

A pandit was also called on the sets who gave predictions on the future of Kangana. “He said that the actress has a ghostly dosh in her kundali. Hearing this Kangana immediately replied, “Panditji don’t say this on TV, as hearing this nobody will propose marriage to me”.

Salman Khan’s upcoming next, Wanted Dead And Alive’s team recently shot for his reality game show 10 Ka Dum. His co-star in the film, Ayesha Takia and director of the film, Prabhu Deva were his star guests as part of their film’s promotion.

Farah Khan Shahrukh ’s closest friend will soon be seen on his arch enemy Salman’s show 10 Ka Dum alongwith her Om Shanti Om leading lady Deepika Padukone. Farah has always drawn a very clear line between her friends and her work. She doesn’t let one aspect affect the other.

Farah is appearing on the show for a cause, “I hope to win a certain amount of money. I am a member of the board of trustees of the NGO Sneha. They work for the education of slum children, empowerment of women living in slums, teach them about health, making them self-reliant in the process, through various self-employment techniques.”

All seems to be well between Deepika and Farah now. Last year, she was upset with Deepika for not keeping in touch after OSO.

After the teams of New York and Do Knot Disturb, Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff recently made an appearance on Salman Khan's 10 Ka Dum to promote their film Luck. Dutt won Rs 10 lakh on the show and donated it to his wife Manyata's NGO Damage, which takes care of under-privileged women and disabled children.


Sanjay Dutt says, "10 Ka Dum is a great show to be on! Salman's fantastic as the host! I was there with Jaggu and it was a riot. The three of us had a smashing time. Salman mimicked me, and made me sing and dance to songs from my films." He confirms winning Rs 10 lakh for the show, "Yes, and I donated it to the NGO Damage. They are doing great work and help the poor and disabled."
Damage is a charity organisation run by Manyata with her friends and they help women in distress, physically challenged children, arrange marriages of the underprivileged, aid in the treatment of cancer. Dutt says emotionally, "There was a 12-year-old girl whose father had died in the Kargil war. She had a hole in her heart and her mom was running from door-to-door desperately seeking help for her child. She didn't get sufficient help from the army but Damage took care. They restored her heart and today she's undergoing treatment."

Dutt wrapped the shooting of Lamhaa and other films. However Bunty Walia maintains that Dutt still has to complete Lamhaa. Sanju says, "My scenes for Lamhaa are done with — only some scenes between Bipasha and Kunal Kapoor are left. I grew a beard for 40 days. After finishing my portions, I specifically asked them if they required me for other scenes. I was told I wasn't so I shaved off my beard and completed my other films. Now, I hear they want my dates again with the same look. That's not possible." The actor leaves shortly for South Africa for a month-long schedule for Anil Kapoor's No Problem.
